A knit day!

How are you all today? Very well I hope.

I’ve been busy completing the course I mentioned which was great fun and currently looking forward to an Annual Conference with all the other teachers. This year it’ll be via Zoom but it looks like it’s going to be a fun and packed day. I’ll keep you posted on the news.

Recently some friends and I have been talking about Naalbinding (there are a number of spellings) or Needle Binding so of course I had to have a go. It was a lot of fun! Like everything it was a little fiddly to get going and I had to try several videos to get going but managed to complete a pair of wristwarmers very quickly once I got going…. of course there’s a difference in tension and definitely less errors in the second one! (I’ll post a pic soon) I enjoyed it so much I may try a little lesson if anyone will let me.

As usual I’ve been doing some hand dyeing. The picture on this post is my latest (which should be in the shop shortly). There was something about this picture that really drew me to it. So much so that I’ve added it to my phone wallpaper so I can keep looking at it. That meant I had to try and dye it! Did I succeed?

Which brings me to the next bit of news…. I’m so excited that we’ve been able to book a knit day at Rushden Hall. You can find more details here. We are still a bit limited on numbers but if the venue works out as well as I hope it will I will be booking more. Hopefully we can increase the numbers as the situation changes.

The main purpose is just to get together and have a chat and a knit (or crochet, or sew, or spin, or weave, or whatever takes your fancy) but I am also planning a couple of short lessons for the day should anyone be interested (no pressure) and of course I have some hand dyed yarn and fibre and some kits… just in case you want some inspiration!

Hope to see you soon
