Summer is here….

….and wow! Just wow is it hot! Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t really enjoy the hot weather. I am already dreaming of those gorgeous September days when the sun shines but there’s a chill in the air. Sweater weather, where are you!!!

So while I wait for that, what have I been up to? I think I mentioned before that I’ve been attending a course to teach knitting to children. It was a great course and I’m a little sorry its over. As part of that course I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time with a wonderful upcoming designer named Georgia Farrell. What a wonderful lady and such fab designs. She talked through her design process and how she is inspired by the modern architecture she sees in London. Rowan have published a book of her designs called My London and I love it. Lots of lovely accessory projects… I think the City Shawl is my favourite. If you want to have a look at her stuff you can find her on instagram @georgiafarrelldesign.

Georgia was kind enough to let us use her pattern from the book for a class so how could I refuse such a generous offer. Which brings me on to the next bit of news…..

We’re having our second knit day at Rushden Hall. You can book here if you’re interested in attending. At this event we will be knitting the Fann Street Hat designed by Georgia Farrell in the super soft Alpaca Soft DK. Of course we are happy to see you and let you work on your own projects too!
