New season, new knits

Well where has the time gone… I can’t believe it’s March already but looking out of the window at a beautiful blue sky and seeing evidence of spring flowers everywhere… I just can’t deny it. Also, thanks to Arno Smit on Unsplash for his pretty spring photo.

Sue has allowed me to cast on a new project as I finished an old one (I’ll post on Facebook shortly) it’s only a pair of socks but I learnt a new hemming technique for a toe up sock and I love it. More of that next month.

So, back to the new project…. I’ve had my eye on the Ramble shawl by Andrea Mowry (you can see it here) and found some pretty spring colours in my vast stash so I’m excited to be using up some yarns that I’ve had around for a while but then…. I spotted something else…

It’s Yume by Isabell Kraemer, another favourite designer (click here to view). This one is knitted with 2 strands of lace held together and has two sleeve lengths included in the pattern. Sounds perfect for Spring. I know I have some lace in stock, question is what colours to use….?

I’m hoping Sue will let me cast on two new projects!

I was busy preparing for my beginners knitting class but now that’s underway I’m beginning to think about booking a class or two for the upcoming months. I’m thinking of some more double sided crochet as I have a lovely shawl pattern, and I also thought it would be lovely to do a Spring knit along. What do you think? I really hope you’ll give me some ideas. You can message me directly or pop a post on the Facebook group which you can find here. Oh! Maybe some of you fancy one or other of the patterns above to knit with me!

Don’t forget our regular events. You can find the details here and I do my best to keep them updated. (Nag me if you don’t see anything there.) I love that our little get togethers are proving so much fun and don’t forget I’m there to help so if you need a hand it’s usually a good place to find me.
