Welcome to 2022!

I’m so excited to be starting a new year with you all and it feels as though there is so much to tell you! I’ll try to save some of the news for later on,

So did you all have a fantastic Christmas break? Mine was great, very relaxing and so nice to catch up with family. I even managed to finish a knit that’s been on my needles for years. It’s a very basic one colour brioche shawl in my favourite asymmetric shape. I used a 6 ply sock yarn so it does have some fun stripes in it. When it first came off the needles I was a little disappointed as it felt stiff and not quite big enough. Then I blocked it! What a difference, it’s now plenty big enough and drapes so beautifully that I think it’ll become a favourite. I know, I know…. I shouldn’t be so surprised I’ve blocked a lot of shawls :) Every time I do it feels like a little piece of magic though. I decided I really need to get this out in the world so I’ve added a blocking service and a blocking lesson to the shop.

We’ve got a new kit for January which will be making its debut at Rushden Hall on Wednesday! It’ll be available as a kit in the colours as set or if you want to choose your colours you can come along to Rushden Hall and spend a fun day knitting. This will also be available at our new monthly venue in Huntingdon! This brings me too…..

Regular events, I’ve been trying to find the perfect way to set them up on the website so you can see what’s happening. I’m still working on that but I will be mailing out information shortly. If you’re not on our mailing list and want to be please drop me a note saying so…. increasingly I hear that you lovely people aren’t always seeing the posts on social media so I think I’ll be using mail a little more in 2022!

I am starting the year with a bang though…. we have The Commemoration Hall on Tuesday afternoon, Rushden Hall on Wednesday and Magazine Heaven at Rushden Lakes on Friday so I hope you’ll be able to make it to at least one of those!

I think that’s enough for now. I hope you’re as excited about the new year as I am and look forward to catching up with you all xx
